A Milestone Year for MRPC: Expansion, Success, and Program Wins

MRPC, a fully integrated contract manufacturer of medical device assemblies and components, closed out 2024 on a positive note following the successful completion of several facility improvements, the addition of new personnel, and the acquisition of new customer programs.

Cleanroom & AutomationMRPC completed three facility improvement projects in 2024. The first was an eight-month cleanroom expansion project at their headquarters location in Butler, WI. This expansion project focused on repurposing existing space within one of their manufacturing buildings into a state-of-the-art cleanroom. MRPC also completed a six-month upgrade project at their Northeast facility, located in Hudson, NH. This project included expanding the employee breakroom by 100 sq ft, building out the main conference room, eliminating storage areas to create a more efficient warehouse area, and additional functional updates. And finally, MRPC transitioned one of their cleanrooms in Butler, WI from ISO 8 to ISO 7, a multi-month project, in support of a new customer program. These facility improvement projects enable MRPC to add capacity for new growth opportunities, while supporting the expansion of its customer base.

These facility improvements demonstrate a commitment to our employees, customers and prospective customers to deliver on our overarching business initiative of being a world class medical device manufacturing partner,” said Greg Riemer, President & CEO at MRPC. “We will continue to invest in our facilities, as well as our team, to support the needs of our customers.”

In addition to facility enhancements at two of their three manufacturing facilities located in the United States, MRPC added staff throughout 2024. In total, MRPC added over 40 team members to support existing customer programs as well as new programs.

The facility upgrades and additional staff support multiple new customer programs that began in 2024, including a new program by a global leader in all facets of patient care, a new surgical implantable program, and additional program wins. These new programs align with MRPC’s core competencies, Design for Manufacturability, Silicone Molding, Plastics Molding & Extrusions, Multi-Material Molding, Finished Medical Device Assembly and Global Supply Chain Management.

The medical device industry has changed over the past decade, and MRPC continues evolving to meet our customer needs by expanding beyond our molding and extrusion capabilities, to include device sub-assembly, assembly and more”, said Riemer. “As a family-owned company, we’re focused on meeting the needs of customers quickly and effectively, attributing to our growth with existing and new customers.”

MedAccred AccreditedMRPC also completed MedAccred recertification, with their Hudson, NH facility being awarded “Merit” status for consistently demonstrating their capability to meet the rigorous MedAccred accreditation audit requirements. In addition to MedAccred recertification, MRPC completed ISO 13485:2016 recertification in 2024. The ISO recertification process extends their accreditation through September 3, 2027, with yearly surveillance audits.

MRPC also incorporated two new Islands of Excellence across their manufacturing facilities, with a focus on medical device manufacturing excellence and their approach to providing more value to their customers. These improvements included a major focus on automation, including:
